North Star is moving?
Yes, North Star in Shorewood is moving right across the street into the Cornerstone Building on Oakland Ave.
Are you closing your doors in the current location before you open the next place?
Yes, we'll be closed for about 10 days before we open across the street.
So, when will you be closing and re-opening?
The current plan is to close on September 13th and re-open across the street on September 23rd.
Why are you moving?
The simple answer is - we needed room to grow! But, we didn't want to just add more tables - we wanted to expand in a way that met the needs and requests of our guests. So, the new space will have a courtyard with outdoor seating, a larger bar area and parking.
Parking? Did you say Parking?
Yes, all that and parking too! The Cornerstone building will have some parking spaces in the back for customers.
Why not stay put and expand next door to the vacant space?
Even if we expanded into the space next door of our current location, we couldn't have provided additional outdoor seating or parking.
Will you still have the Family Room?
Yes, we are loyal to our families and have had such a great response to the idea that we are making the room a little larger, adding windows and cabinets for toys.
Are you planning on opening for lunch or brunch?
Yes to both. Lunch will be served Wednesday - Friday and Brunch will be served on Sunday. We will still be open for dinner seven days a week.
Who are your neighbors?
We are happy to report that we will be in good company across the street! Thief Wine will be directly across the courtyard from us. Alterra Coffee and Boutique B'Lou will be in the building as well.
